This trip went the way that we like it to - uneventful but successful.

As it is the leaf-fall season, we had a Class 67 diesel with us, which was also able to provide power for the train heating. We kept closely to the booked timings throughout the day. The water stop at Shalford, where we also pull coal forward, was reached four and a half minutes early, and we left on time. We finally got back to Victoria within a couple of minutes of the schedule.

The Belmond passengers were especially keen to visit the locomotive, both before departure, and after the return. They all seemed to have had a very good day.
