The work on the repairs to Clan Line’s boiler continues at LNWR Heritage at Crewe. The damage to the foundation ring has been made good, and it is, now, back in position. All the lower part of the inner firebox has been removed, and the new plate work is being prepared for welding.

Work is also progressing on the mechanical side. The frames have been painted, and things like the brake rigging are being re-attached, where possible.

The bogie is being re-built, including new spring hangers.

The driving wheel horns are also being re-aligned.

All in all, things are looking pretty good.
